The Heart of Christmas
Christmas is a time of year where we gather with our families, take time to share presents, a time of peace and goodwill. Or is it? In today’s world Christmas seems to start at the end of the summer sales. The local pub advertises its Christmas lunch before the leaves have even started to turn orange. Shopping becomes ever more hectic as we race toward Christmas day. The media bombards us with all the wonderful things we could buy and when the day arrives we have all that food to cook. Somewhere in the rush we forget about the baby born today. We forget it is His birthday.
I don’t really know where songs come from and what brings the word and the tune: but over the last seven or eight years each Christmas seems to bring new songs Rooted in the songs in this album is an ever present theme to remind us of why we celebrate Christmas. In a world ever more commercial and increasingly politically correct it is easy to leave the baby out in the cold. Remember it is His birthday.
I don’t know where the songs come from but I do know the message is inspired by the ever constant faith of my wife, Phyllis. This album is specially for her.
